Ken Block and Drew Copeland, best known as the lead singers of Gainesville Florida’s platinum selling southern rock band Sister Hazel, bring their wildly successful hits to select cities for an intimate “Miss it and Miss out” acoustic show, reminiscent of the early UF days as a duo playing small Gator Country clubs. And what better place to include than the intimate Surf Room stage at Summer Crush! We're proud the Fort is one of the selected cities and The Crush is the select venue!!
When : 5:30-8:30 pm
You will recognize Block’s powerful and emotional vocals instantly on hits such as All For You, Change Your Mind, Happy, Champagne High, and others. In addition, Sister Hazel has appeared on Legacy: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours with their cover version of Gold Dust Woman, and their hits have been in motion picture soundtracks like 10 Things I Hate About You, Major League, The Wedding Planner, Bedazzled, Back to the Minors, Clay Pigeons, and American Wedding, as well as in the TV show Scrubs.
Sister Hazel is known for their personal and fan friendly shows and events like Rock The Boat, which they co-founded, as well as the annual Hazelnut Hang and their Lyrics for Life charity for childhood cancer. As Gators and UF alum, Ken & Drew were the first ever celebrity hosts of the world’s largest student run prep rally, Gator Growl!
The Ken & Drew Show will take fans through an intimate acoustic performance of Sister Hazel’s favorites, a few “B” sides and deep cuts, and some new material that is being called “some of the freshest new music to come out of Music City”, as Copeland now lives in Nashville and has been working with the town’s best wordsmiths for the past 10 years. And of course, there will be lots of laughs and crafty storytelling delivered with their well-known wit. This show is truly a “miss it and miss out”!
